All MAGI-WHIRL 2010 activities take place at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA. The official lodging for the convention talent and staff is the Hilton Hotel in Springfield, VA. The hotel information is ONLY IF you plan to stay overnight or join us for the "after" parties at Houlihan's in the Hilton.

Special Magi-Whirl 2010 Room Rate
The Magi-Whirl rate is $141.00 for Thursday April 8, and $89.00 for Friday April 9 and Saturday April 10. Rates are per room, per night, plus local taxes (Virginia has a 9% hotel sales tax). (Any guest needing additional accommodations should contact the hotel for current rates.)

Guests should call the hotel directly for reservations at 703-971-8900 or 1-800-717-3691. You must ask for special rate reservations under the name of "Magi-Whirl Convention."
The room block expires on March 18, 2010. Any requests for rooms after that date will be accepted on a space & rate available basis. If you want to secure a room at the discount, you must call by March 18! Don't be shut out.
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Rooms will be held until 4:00 p.m. the day of check-in unless guaranteed for late arrival by a credit card or advance deposit. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Guests are responsible for all charges.
Every effort will be made to accommodate special requests for room types, smoking preferences and location; however, due to arrival and departure patterns the hotel may not be able to fulfill all requests.
Travel Directions (to Bishop Ireton H.S.)
From Rte. 395 (Shirley Highway):
- From Rte. 395, get off at the exit marked Seminary Road East.
- Follow Seminary Rd. past Alexandria Hospital and go through the light at Quaker Lane. (Note: At Quaker Lane, Seminary Rd. Becomes Janney's Lane.)
- On Janney's Lane, go through one traffic light (just past MacArthur School.)
- One block past the traffic light, turn right onto Cambridge Road.
- Pass two stop signs; Bishop Ireton is on the left.
Using I-495 (Beltway):
- Take Exit 176B (Telegraph Rd. North).
- Follow overhead signs to Duke Street West (Route 236 West/Landmark).
- At the 2nd traffic light, turn right on Cambridge Rd. and then an immediate left. Drive up the hill to Bishop Ireton on the right.
From King St. Metro Station:
- Ireton is about 1.5 miles from the King St. Metro Station. Take any Metro Bus or Dash bus that goes out Route 236 West. (Metro Bus numbers 29, K, M, or N follow this route.) Your stop is Cambridge Rd., which is at the 7/11 Convenience Store.
- Walk up the hill to Bishop Ireton (on the right).

- Turn LEFT from hotel parking lot onto Loisdale Road.
- Go a short distance to Franconia Road, then turn RIGHT (East) on Franconia Road.
- In about 2 miles turn LEFT onto S. Van Dorn Street, Ramp to I -495 East Capital Beltway (Outer Loop). Stay in the right lane on beltway.
- Take Exit 176-B Telegraph Road towards Alexandria, keep LEFT at the fork to go on Telegraph Road / VA-241 N.
- Telegraph Road becomes an exit ramp curving right.
- Take the ramp to VA-236 West (Duke Street).
- In about 1/2 mile turn Right onto Cambridge Road at the light at the 7-11. Bishop Ireton School is on the right. Turn into the parking lot and follow the signs.
